Inktaro vs Buffer

Buffer is a broad social media toolkit billed per channel. Inktaro only publishes vertical videos, with unlimited videos on paid plans.

The short version

Buffer is a general social media tool: scheduling, a community inbox, analytics, an AI assistant and an API, across a dozen networks. Inktaro does one job: publishing vertical videos to TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and Facebook Reels. If you need text posts, LinkedIn or an inbox, Buffer covers more ground.

How pricing works

  • Buffer bills per connected channel: Essentials is $5 per channel per month and Team is $10 per channel per month, billed yearly. Paid plans include unlimited scheduled posts, with a fair use cap of 5,000 posts per channel. The Free plan connects up to 3 channels, with 10 scheduled posts per channel at a time.
  • Inktaro bills per plan, not per channel: Creator is $9 a month with 6 connected accounts, Pro is $19 a month with 15 (launch prices), both with unlimited videos within each platform's own posting limits. Free includes 3 accounts and 10 videos a month.

Where Buffer goes further

  • More networks, including LinkedIn, X, Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky, Mastodon and Google Business Profile.
  • A community inbox, advanced analytics, first comment scheduling and custom video covers on paid plans.
  • An API, and a 14-day free trial of paid plans.
  • Unlimited team members on the Team plan.

What Inktaro focuses on

  • Vertical video only: each file is checked against each platform's limits before you schedule, and Inktaro never crops or trims it on its own.
  • A status per platform, and a retry for the platform that failed only.
  • An interface in English and French.

Where Inktaro stands today

Inktaro is in early access. Its TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook integrations are being built, then each platform has to approve them. Until then, some options stay limited. The platforms page shows the current status of each one.
