Understand publishing statuses and retries

Inktaro tracks every destination separately. Here's what each status means, when Inktaro retries on its own and when it asks you first.

One post, one status per destination

A post can target several accounts at once, but each destination keeps its own status. TikTok can be published while YouTube is still processing and Instagram needs your attention. When some destinations are live and others aren't, the post shows as partially published.

The statuses you'll see

  • Scheduled: the destination is set for the date and time you chose. Nothing has been sent yet.
  • Queued: the time has come and the destination is waiting its turn to be sent.
  • Publishing: Inktaro is sending the video to the platform.
  • Processing: the platform has received the video and is still processing it. Inktaro checks with the platform until it confirms the result.
  • Published: the platform has confirmed the video is live. A request that simply went through is not enough: Inktaro waits for this confirmation.
  • Retrying: the previous attempt did not go through, and Inktaro will try again.
  • Needs action: something needs you before this destination can continue. See below.
  • Disconnected: the account's access has expired or was revoked. Reconnect it to continue.
  • Failed: the platform refused the video or the settings, and retrying as is won't help. The reason is shown in plain words.
  • Canceled: you removed this destination from the post.

When Inktaro retries on its own, and when it doesn't

Inktaro retries automatically only when it knows the previous attempt did not go through, for example when the platform was unreachable before anything was sent. If Inktaro can't tell whether the video was published, for example because the connection dropped right after sending, it never retries on its own. The destination moves to Needs action, so you can check the platform and decide. That way, the same video is never posted twice by mistake.

If a platform's daily limit is reached, the destination waits and is sent after the limit resets.

Retrying yourself

You retry one destination at a time. Destinations that are already published are never touched.

Less posting. More creating.
